Fiber Talk Midweek Chat, 7-11-18

Sarah Braizear 1829

Yes, we’ve found our way to Wednesday once again. We talk about Krista Gramer, a couple in our community who have passed away, Stitchville USA, and what to do with those leftover threads. This is also a special Wednesday for those who are stitching the Sarah Braizear 1829 sampler from Hands Across the Sea Samplers, because it marks the official start of the stitch along. Even if you’re not stitching the sampler, you’ll enjoy this week’s show because we are joined by Jacqueline Morris, the talented needleworker who stitched Sarah Braizear. We have a great time discussing stitching in general and exploring many of the nuances of Sarah Braizear and how Jacqueline stitched the model. It was a real treat to have Jacqueline join us. Sunday’s guest: Jessica Chaney, Lycette Designs.

Fiber Talk with Gay Ann Rogers

Elizabeth I by Gay Ann Rogers

Talented needlework designer Gay Ann Rogers is our guest this week. Known throughout the hobby for consistently delivering outstanding designs such as Eleanor of Aquitaine, Catherine the Great, the Downton Abbey geometric series, a number of striking original samplers, and the sophisticated Echoes I and II, Rogers has had a storied career in the needlework hobby. As you would expect, talking with her is as engaging as stitching her designs and we had a terrific and wide-ranging conversation. We hope you enjoy our conversation with Gay Ann Rogers and encourage you to watch for her upcoming “The Last Queen” design.–Gary and Christine
