Fiber Talk with Stephanie Bonneau II

Haute couture flower by Stephanie Bonneau.

Stephanie Bonneau, of Atelier Saint Clare, returns this week for a second conversation. Our first conversation with Stephanie was October 18. In that first conversation, we learned about Stephanie’s career and experiences in the needle arts. We did not have enough time to explore the many years she has spent working in the world of haute couture. This week we devote the entire show to learning how that world of fashion works and the roles a skilled embroiderer plays in creating some of the world’s top fashion pieces. We hope you enjoy the show and gain at least a small sense of what goes on behind the scenes of a top fashion house.–Gary

Fiber Talk Midweek Chat, 11-18-20

Biscornu stitched and finished by Jenifer.
Needle In A Haystack is sponsoring our SAL of the Rosewood Manor design, Springhill. Kits available soon and we start stitching Jan. 1.

It’s Wednesday once again. Jenifer and Gary gather to talk about the factors that make us lose interest in and stop stitching projects that we initially liked, and what it is that draws us to a project. We also experience Gary confusing Sulky cotton thread with NPI silk and almost convincing Jenifer. In addition, we announce a new SAL. On Jan. 1 we will start stitching Springhill by Rosewood Manor. The SAL is sponsored by Needle in a Haystack. Jenifer, Beth, and Gary are each planning to stitch Springhill in a different thread set. More information is coming as soon as Cathe makes the conversions and gets the kits together. Join us tonight for the Stitch Hour at 8:00 p.m. Eastern when we’ll talk about stitching painted-canvas designs with our guest, Patricia Sone.–Jenifer and Gary
