Fiber Talk with Cathy Habermann

Block Party by Cathy Habermann.

Cathy Habermann, owner of Hands on Design, is my guest this week. She is a prolific and talented needle-art designer and it’s likely that, if you’ve done much cross stitch, you own at least one of her charts. Cathy is also a talented finisher and many of her designs are created with a finish in mind. We have a thoroughly enjoyable discussion about Cathy’s design career and needle-art design in general. I’m confident you’ll enjoy it.–Gary

Fiber Talk Midweek Chat, 3-27-19

Finishing by Vonna Pfeiffer on a quilt by Vonna Pfeiffer.

The day that begins with a W has arrived once again and that means it’s time for some midweek chatting. It’s Vonna and Gary this week and we talk about Gary’s apparent inability to count to ten, speculate about stitching the Queen Sampler, discuss stitching paths, help Vonna discover that she has thought processes, gush over Ellie Pfeiffer’s skills, analyze the Jesus project, and talk about quiet morning stitching time. We also gain insight into how Vonna stores and retrieves charts and other supplies from her backyard warehouse. Sunday’s guest: Cathy Habermann of Hands on Design.

Fiber Talk with Stephanie Webb

Except Grandmas, designed by Stephanie Webb of Lindy Stitches.

Lindy Stitches is the company and Stephanie Webb is the designer. Stephanie joins me this week to talk about how a hobby that started when she was eight has evolved into a business that is delivering some creative and fun designs. The 2019 Nashville Market was a successful debut for Stephanie with her A Mother’s Heart, Bunny Lace Trio, Except Grandmas, and Peacock Keeper introductions, along with her very popular Birds to the Bough design. I’m confident you’ll enjoy listening to Stephanie as much as I enjoyed talking to her.–Gary
