Seriously???? – – are you going to do The Queen’s Sampler? I’ve just re-watched the Floss tube episode – – – – and if you’re really going to do it I may join you! As always – a great listen and lots of stitching hints and tips – – with a good smattering of laughter – it really makes my day!
We’re definitely doing it. Will have our materials next week when I visit Sassy Jacks. You’re more than welcome to join the party. Believe me, we’re taking the long road to completion. It’s a healthy challenge and there is no need to rush it. Give Kim a call. She’ll fix you up. Note that you need to buy the original pattern package and Linda Vinson’s stitch guide. Also note that Linda posted on FB today that, under “colors I added” on p. 2 of Linda’s guide, the thread that is designated 22 should be 2235 and that the real-metal thread Linda used for the Queen’s crown is no longer available. She’s suggesting Gold Milliary from Access Commodities. You shop or Kim can get it for you. Thanks for listening.

This podcast is worthy of a standing ovation! I truly enjoyed the hour and definitely laughed out loud! Vonna, your laugh fills my soul…and the room! Your energy creates excitement and is both stimulating and motivating. Gary, you bring so much inspiration to these podcasts! Each artist, designer and needleworker you introduce opens up new avenues of interest and sparks so much creativity. Thank you both for your energy, your love for needle and thread and willingness to share with the needlework community. I’m a huge fan of both of you! Thank you for an enjoyable hour!
Thanks! Glad you enjoyed the show and we could brighten your day. Thanks for listening.

I rarely check my bag so in my carry-on 99% of the time. Can’t imagine it will be an issue for TSA. Thanks for listening.

When you travel with your Halo light in the hard case, do you put it in your checked or carry on luggage?
What case did you get for the lamp?
The Everything Mary Zip Around Knitting Needle Storage Case.
I bought mine on Amazon because my local Joann Fabrics doesn’t stock it.
Thanks!
Ok, I’m excited to watch as you stitch The Queen’s Sampler. I do have one of the numbered Darlene patterns. Was the first sampler I ever bought. Still not stitched, but on my wish list to start. Maybe you’ll inspire me to start mine.
Thanks for listening and glad you’re interested in the Queen’s Sampler. Order a kit and join us.

I love listening to you and my co-workers think I am nuts because I am sitting here laughing along with you! I am considering the Queen’s Sampler but was wondering if you could post the approximate cost for the patter, stitch guide, and supplies/kit. Most of the needlework stores don’t offer online catalogs and I don’t have the time to call each one for information. That would be a great help when you review or recommend products. Y’all are bad for my budget.
I think you and Vonna need to invent a wine holder that attaches to a frame. Brilliant!
Here’s the breakdown of the kit prices from Sassy Jacks:
–Threads and linen: $150 (this part is discounted and Kim has 30 kits)
–Original Darleen O’Steen chart: $50
–Linda Vinson stitch guide: $26
–Total cost for the kit: $226
All threads are in and complete kits can be sent. Vonna and I will have our full kits within the next couple of days and will then figure out when/how we’re going to start.
Thanks for listening to Fiber Talk and I hope you’ll join us for the Queen’s Sampler journey,
Gary
