Fiber Talk Midweek Chat, 5-12-21

Beth made amazing progress in 100 days on Agnes Dei.

We’re half way through the week and Beth and Gary gathered to do some chatting about needlework. This week’s topics include stitching while traveling; visiting needlework shops; our ongoing projects; Gary’s upcoming needlework and podcasting studio; organization tips we learned from Norrine Burke, The Crafty Organizer, suggested by Carrie Noess; a Facebook group for cross stitch storage, suggested by Nancy Bareiss; and a good storage tip from Mary Jo Eckhart. Join us tonight for the Fiber Talk Stitch Hour at 8:00 p.m. for our third Thread Talk with Cathe Ray of Needle in a Haystack. Sunday’s guest: Terri Bay.–Beth and Gary

Fiber Talk with RSN’s Dr. Susan Kay-Williams and Jacqui McDonald

A page from the RSN Stitch Bank.

Dr. Susan Kay-Williams, Chief Executive, and Jacqui McDonald, RSN Tutor and Stitch Bank Developer, of the Royal School of Needlework, join us this week in a show sponsored by Sassy Jacks Stitchery and the Embroiderers’ Guild of America. In our discussion, we look at pandemic-driven changes at the RSN that are going to expand global access to the many programs they have to offer. The big excitement, and the primary focus of the show, is the upcoming RSN Stitch Bank and accompanying Adopt a Stitch Campaign. Jacquie MacDonald is managing this new effort and it promises to be one of the best resources available to needleworkers of all types and skill levels. Adopting a stitch is quite affordable and maybe something your group might consider. Enjoy the show and make some time to explore the educational opportunities offered by the Royal School of Needlework.–Gary
