Fiber Talk with Diane L. Murtha

Diane’s new book is available now.
Art quilt by Diane L. Murtha.

This week we visit the quilting world and art-quilt designer Diane L. Murtha. In Diane’s creative mind, most quilts aren’t finished until she’s added some beads, embroidery, appliqué, or anything else that might embellish or tell more of the quilt’s story. We learn about her approach to art and creativity and how she doesn’t always concern herself if her points don’t match up. Diane’s new book, “Artful Insights in Fabric, Quilted Bits of Wit and Wisdom,” is also part of the discussion because it further explores her “what if” approach to creating visual experiences through textile art. Enjoy the show and be sure to visit Diane’s website to keep up with her new creations and her teaching and lecturing schedule, including her presentations at Quilt Week, April 26 to 29 at the National Quilt Museum in Paducah, KY.–Beth and Gary
