Fiber Talk with Amy Jones

Floral arrangement by Amy Jones.
Purse designed and embroidered by Amy Jones.
We travel to Australia this week to talk with embroidery artist Amy Jones of Grandpa Cat. Our show is sponsored by Sassy Jacks Stitchery. Amy is a multi-faceted artist who works primarily with needle and thread using new and recycled materials. She also designs coloring pages, creates embroidery kits, teaches embroidery workshops, and frequently exhibits her art. While she is skilled at painting and drawing, Amy prefers needle and thread because of the way it allows her to express her interpretations of nature, either in the realistic or abstract form. As for the company name Grandpa Cat, you’ll have to listen to the conversation to learn where that originated. After you listen to the conversation, visit Amy’s website to experience her work.–Beth and Gary
