Beth’s Dawn to Dusk is looking rather stunning.Wednesday has arrived again and we had stuff we didn’t get to two weeks ago, so consider this part II. It’s a long one. We had lots to talk about. Among the topics are our Tour de Broderie Femmes shows; Krista West’s new book “Everyday Folk;” Beth’s Dawn to Dusk progress and how she’s modified the design; showing your needlework to non-stitchers; cultural appropriation and whether it’s a thing in the needlework world; getting bogged down or never starting a project because you’re waiting for just the right thread, ground cloth, or needle; and why we’re not using all of the stash we’ve accumulated. Some of these topics are going to generate some thoughts. Share them with us. Sunday’s guest is Ann Beck.–Beth and Gary

Wednesday is a favorite because we get to talk about needlework. In this week’s show we remember Jean Lea, talk about a Valentine’s Day registration offer for the Fiber Talk Needle Arts retreat, discuss our attempts to stitch every day and what projects are in the rotation, look at some casket stitching, enjoy some Gay […]
The passing of Jean Lea will leave a huge void in the needlework world, particularly for those who love, reproduce, and stitch samplers. In addition to being a terrific person, Jean was widely known as the owner of The Attic, one of the few true destination needlework shops. Anyone who spent any time with her […]
The life of a military wife, living in upstate New York, and the pandemic catalyzed Caroline Gilman’s interest in needlepoint. Our conversation with Caroline is sponsored by Avlea Folk Embroidery and the Fiber Talk Needle Arts Weekend. During those hours in New York, Caroline found her home with painted-canvas needlepoint. It wasn’t long before she […]
We’re at the center of the week and Cindy and Gary have fired up the recording gear to talk about a new one-day option for the Fiber Talk retreat (wetalkfiber.com/weekend); request for questions for upcoming shows; Gary keeping up with Beth’s Stitch Every Day challenge; storing slate frames, scroll rods, and stretcher bars; marking stretcher […]
Imagine what your plain Jane sneakers would look like if they had a scene embroidered on the sides. Melissa Galbraith did just that and she wrote a book about it to help you turn your canvas shoes into works of art. Melissa is our guest this week and the show is sponsored by Sassy Jacks […]
