Fiber Talk with Jessica Grimm III

Mitre created for Sainte Chapelle. Photo by Jessica Grimm.

Jessica Grimm returns this week for a fascinating conversation about her travels and medieval embroidery research at various museums. The show is sponsored by Shepherd’s Needle. In the conversation we learn about the various types of embroidery; the techniques, tools, and materials that were used; and what it’s like to replicate these art pieces. Jessica also talks about a Paris shop tour in which she saw a terrific range of textiles, ribbons, yards, beads, and buttons. She also describes here experience in the AuVer a Soie salesroom. I’m confident you’ll enjoy the show and encourage you to visit Jessica’s blog to read her articles about her travels and see a large number of photos.–Gary
