Fiber Talk with Trish Burr II

One of Trish Burr’s monochrome designs.
Trish Burr’s Kew Book of Embroidered Flowers

Trish Burr joins us this week for a podcast sponsored by Sassy Jacks Stitchery. It’s been more than two years since we talked with Trish and she’s been busy developing a monochrome series and experimenting with embellishing painted/printed landscape scenes, while continuing to produce the needle-painting designs we all enjoy. Her biggest project has been producing the “Kew Book of Embroidered Flowers,” the latest edition to the Trish Burr library of needlework books. This time she collaborated with the Royal Botanic Gardens Kew and was able to develop designs from their vast collection of more than 200,000 pieces of botanical art. We explore what it takes to produce a book of this quality and what it offers to needleworkers at all levels. We also get a hint of what’s next for one of the top designers in the embroidery world. Enjoy the conversation and visit Trish’s social-media channels to explore and enjoy her work. –Gary

Designs by Rachel Winters
Joining us this week is Rachel Winters of Flora Embroidery GA. Rachel is one of those rare people who creates embroidery designs, stitches them, and then sells the finished product. As you can tell from her company name, she focuses on flora and fauna and, as you can see from her work, has a real talent for bringing plants to life with needle and thread. We hope you enjoy her story.–Vonna and Gary
