This podcast originally aired in February 2018. This is an encore presentation of a very enjoyable conversation Terri Bay of Terri Bay Needlework Designs about whitework, blackwork, hardanger, Lotus boxes, and Romanian point lace. Most of Terri’s designs are Ukrainian in their genesis, but she is starting to add other techniques, such as blackwork. Fiber Talk with Terri Bay

One of Terri Bay’s Lotus box designs.

Whitework, blackwork, Hardanger, Lotus boxes, and Romanian point lace are just some of the topics we cover with this week’s guest Terri Bay of Terri Bay Needlework Designs. Terri began stitching in her early 20s while working in a day care center to earn money for college. She needed something to do while the children were napping and a coworker gave her a cross-stitch pattern. Her journey into Ukrainian Whitework began when she inherited a partially finished table runner from her aunt. After several years of developing her needlework skills, she finally finished the runner and was hooked on whitework and whitework design. Most of her designs are Ukrainian in their genesis, but she is starting to add other techniques, such as blackwork, into them. She also enjoys Hardanger, samplers with specialty stitches, and is a fiber addict. We hope you enjoy our conversation with Terri Bay.–Christine and Gary
