Fiber Talk with Elizabeth Reese of Woodlawn

The Woodlawn Needlework Show is a popular event.
The goal for the 2025 Woodlawn Needlework Show is to have at least one entry from each of the 50 states.
The goal for the 62nd Woodlawn Needlework Show, March 2025, is to have at least one piece from each of the 50 states. Elizabeth Reese, Woodlawn’s Associate Manager of Marketing, joins us this week to talk about that goal and the accompanying celebration of 50 years of Nelly’s Needlers, the volunteer group that organizes the famous Woodlawn Needlework Show. This week’s podcast is sponsored by Sassy Jacks Stitchery at sassyjacksstitchery.com. You’ll learn much from Elizabeth about the Woodlawn and Pope-Leighey House programs, the history of the Needlework Show, and the historical role that Nelly’s Needlers has played in raising the annual event to the status it enjoys today. The Needlework Show is not juried, meaning anyone can enter. After you listen to the show, consider what you might enter and go to the Woodlawn site to learn how you can participate.–Gary
