Hope you enjoy all these projects!!
I am planning on starting one of the sister’s samplers on JAn 1 2018!!! Can I ask if Christine is doing DMC or silk and what fabric did she choose. I live just north of Binghamton by about 1.5 hrs. I have never been to stitchery Row but it is on my bucket list. I go to A Stitcher’s Garden in Fayetteville. I also know there are shops in Rochester, Canandaigua and Bid FLats….so there are a bunch within a few hour radius!!!

Like both of you, I have several projects going at once. Gary, I look forward to seeing progress pics of Elizabethan Treasures, Sarah Parr 1825 Sampler, and Anasazi Song.

Christine, please do post more pictures on IG. Love seeing your work, too.

  17. Hi Christine,
Agree with what you say about surface embroidery and wanting to turn and bend the piece as you work. BUT, I think you will still find having two hands gives you better precision for needle placement. The way the Royal School of Needlework teachers, students etc, solve this is through the use of a seat frame. The frame is secured with your thigh, but you can still swivel and bend the hoop. Its an inexpensive tool and indispensable for surface embroidery! The one the RSN sells is called Elbesee – which you can also find on Amazon and lots of other places. It comes with three sizes of hoops too. There is also a table clamp version, but I personally find the “Seat” version to be more versatile (when you don’t have a table, for example).
    Good luck!

  18. Liked the sound of the xmas stitchery which Christine purchased from stitchery row. Tried to see at their website, o luck. Also emailed them and so far no reply. Can we get the exact name of the stitchery please? Thanks.
