About the, erm, seat frames (the American term is better not used over here in the UK…) – I had problems with those because using them “side saddle”, as Vonna calls it, most of them didn’t really work very well for me because of the way they tilt (or rather, don’t tilt). And I can’t use them the other way because I tend to wear longish skirts. It wasn’t until I found the multiple-tilting Sonata frame that I could use it from the side, yay! Mine has no hoop attached but will take whatever I clamp in it, and I love it!

I have to say that Fiber Talk made me do it! I have received the banding and another Bristol Samplers to stitch along with both of you. I also just finally gave in and bought a Hardwicke Manor hoop and some twill tape to wrap it from Sassy Jacks of course. Can’t wait to receive it.
I have used piece maker needles before, but lately I have tended to the Bohin.
As for needles going missing on the floor -my kids learned early as I also quilt, to wear shoes.
