  1. The Nancy’s Needle designs are stunning. Thank you for pointing them out. But what is the difference between Counted Canvas and Needlepoint?

  2. In most circles, there is essentially no difference. Those terms get used interchangeably. In general, needlepoint is viewed as needlework done on canvas, usually 18 ct. or congress cloth. Counted canvas involves stitching a design on a blank canvas. Usually the design is some for of geometric pattern. Some designers create scenes. Painted canvas needlepoint starts with a canvas on which a design/scene/picture is painted by machine or by hand. By hand is more expensive but much better because the color edges will be placed such that they will match your stitching. Painted canvas stitching uses a variety of stitches and embellishments to “bring the two-dimensional” image to life.
Hope this helps and thanks for listening,
