Fiber Talk with Sarah Pedlow

Ukrainian Borshchiv embroidery, photographed by Sarah Pedlow.

Sarah Pedlow of Thread Written joins us this week. The show is sponsored by Sassy Jacks Stitchery. Sarah is an American needlework artist who live in Amsterdam. Moving to Amsterdam allowed her to pursue her love and quest of exploring, learning, and sharing stitching history and techniques from countries such as Hungary, Ukraine, Portugal, Armenia, and other European countries. In our conversation we learn about how she immerses herself in the various cultures, the trips she organizes so others can have a similar experience, and her classes so everyone can learn the techniques. We also explore Sarah’s own, unique approach to needle art. Sarah is playing an important role in preserving old needlework techniques and it was a pleasure learning about her work.–Beth and Gary
