Fiber Talk with Ruth Norbury

What Then is Time? by Ruth Norbury
Exit Eternity by Ruth Norbury
Ruth Norbury of Gothic Decay is our guest this week. The show is sponsored by Sassy Jacks Stitchery. Ruth creates her captivating textile art by starting with a reference photo, then building her ground cloth from scraps of fabric. Once the ground cloth is in place, she executes a series of steps that involve an old manual Singer sewing machine, dyes, stencils, stamp pads, and anything else that will give her the image she wants. Then follows an extensive amount of embroidery with lots of French and bullion knots and beads. Most of her materials come from a local thrift shop. This is textile art at its finest, created by someone who has no fear of the question, What if?–Beth and Gary
