Fiber Talk Midweek Chat, 10-27-21

Beth’s needlebook, designed by Gay Ann Rogers.

We did that Wednesday thing again. This week Beth and Gary talk about the Pour Ta Fete sampler and how we’re going to stitch it, the Attic’s beaded-ornament Christmas tree fund raiser for breast cancer research, beautiful ort bowls and boxes from It’s Mike’s Turn on Etsy, projects you can’t put down, and projects you want to abandon and why. Join us tonight for the Fiber Talk Stitch Hour. We’ll be stitching and chatting at 8:00 p.m. Eastern on the Fiber Talk YouTube channel. Sunday’s guest: Kate Festo.–Beth and Gary

Fiber Talk with Jean Lea

The Attic store with tables for classes and samplers covering the walls.
Elizabethan Treasures from Linda Barry, considered by Jean to be one of the best whitework samplers ever published.

If you stitch samplers for very long you’ll likely encounter the Attic Needlework & Collectibles shop in Mesa, AZ, and sampler addict/owner Jean Lea. She is our guest this week for a terrific conversation about how this hub of the sampler world came to be; its many offerings, classes, retreats, and charitable activities, and the obsession Jean has with samplers of all kinds, particularly reproduction samplers. Shop visitors can easily spend a day exploring the large collection of samplers on display and learning about their history, in addition to thousands of other cross-stitch charts and supplies. We hope you enjoy the conversation as much as we did.–Christine and Gary
