Debbie Woodard of Painted Pony Designs, Destination: Dallas, and the first annual Needlepoint Shop Day, joins us after another very successful Destination: Dallas market and show. We talk about the excitement Debbie is seeing in the painted-canvas market, her needlepoint-canvas business and the new designers she’s added in the past year, and the genesis of a special day for needlepoint shops. Our guest this week is Debbie Woodard owner of Painted Pony Designs. Debbie began designing needlepoint in 1989, after working for several years in a needlepoint shop in Austin, TX. The company name reflects her love of art and design and her original goal which was to use the money she made from her original designs to fulfill her childhood dream of purchasing a horse. She realized that dream in 2000 when she purchased Dandy as a Christmas gift for her daughter, Christina.

In our conversation with Debbie we talk about how her company started, the many canvases the company offers, their trunk-show program, and Destination Dallas, an annual trade show partially owned by Debbie.
