Our guest this week is needlepoint designer, teacher Diane Herrmann. She holds a Level 2 Teacher Certification in canvas embroidery from the National Academy of Needlearts (NAN). Diane has taught for local and regional guilds and chapters, and received several prestigious awards and honors for her work.

As a former University of Chicago mathematics teacher, Diane has used math concepts as inspiration for her designs and presentations. Diane strongly supports the integration of needleart/fiber art and mathematics and is a contributing author of “Crafting by Concepts: Fiber Arts and Mathematics.” Noted classes/designs include Walking the Water’s Edge, Diamond City Lights, and Amanda’s Garden.
