Fiber Talk Midweek Chat, 11-6-24

Join us for the first Fiber Talk Needle Arts Weekend, March 21 to 23, 2025.
Holst Meets Webb design by Lorene Salt
It’s Wednesday and Cindy and Gary have gathered to have a conversation about needlework. This week we talk about the Fiber Talk Needle Arts Weekend (March 21 to 23, 2025, registration is open now), the EGA Sampler University and 2025 National Seminar, the Jackie du Plessis “Rise Above the Waters” design available at Sassy Jacks Stitchery, the emergence of AI-generated needlework images and how to detect them, and what advice we’d give to someone who wants to learn needlepoint. Turns out it’s not as easy as you’d think. Sunday’s guests are Mark and Nadine Roger of Creative Experiences–Cindy and Gary

Fiber Talk Midweek Chat, 5-17-23

Avlea’s Aegean Sunrise getting attached to Beth’s jean jacket.
Wednesday has arrived and we’re chatting. Topics include our May 14 mental health and needlework show, EGA National Seminar registration changes, summer stitching time, traveling projects, the Gay Ann Rogers whitework sampler sale, stitching muscle memory, and our June 1, Not One More Thing attempt to go an entire year without buying new projects and other needlework items. Exceptions to the buying stoppage are purchases from the Sassy Jacks store opening, additional threads for an existing project, projects already ordered, 2024 projects that need to be purchased ahead of time, the Gay Ann Rogers whitework sampler sale, gifted items. Join us or watch from the sidelines to see when our willpower collapses. Note that there won’t be any new shows until the May 31 Midweek Chat.–Beth and Gary

Hardanger chess board by Janet Noble.

It’s a short work week, but they included a Wednesday so we opted to chat. Beth and Gary gather this week, after we’ve had a chance to gather our thoughts, to talk about our experiences at the EGA Seminar. While our time was spent generating content for those who couldn’t attend, we came away from the event with a lot of knowledge that is going to help our needlework. If you haven’t already, go to the Fiber Talk YouTube channel and enjoy the 18 videos we produced that provide almost six hours of coverage. Please tell your friends so they can enjoy, too. Thanks to Sassy Jacks Stitchery and Middletwin for sponsoring our EGA National Seminar coverage. Also, join us tonight for the Fiber Talk Stitch Hour. We’ll be stitching and chatting so bring your favorite project, beverage, and pen and paper.–Beth and Gary
