Fiber Talk Midweek Chat, 8-31-22

Heart by Cindy Baldwin.
It’s Wednesday and Cindy and Gary felt the need to gather and talk about needlework. This week we talked about the Mystery in St. Tropez project, pros and cons of removing selvage from needlepoint canvas, the difference between warp and weft and the fact that we really don’t have a clue, when to cut threads in lengths and when not to, storing threads, and the importance of being constructive when instructing and/or helping others. Note that there is no Stitch Hour tonight. We’ll return next Wednesday night. Sunday’s guest: David McCaskill.–Cindy and Gary

Cigar boxes had a lot of potential for storage and display.

Fiber Talk Midweek Chat, 9-18-19

A Twisted Stitcher finish.

It’s Wednesday and it’s a long chat, so get some extra beer/wine or do another lap of your walking route. As always, we’re sponsored by Sassy Jacks Stitchery. Please support them because they help make these podcasts possible. Our topics include our plans to participate in the Bristol Orphanage Sampler event at Sassy Jacks in October, live shows, our Queen’s Sampler experiences, storing threads and charts, and our upcoming Fiber Talk Starters series. Then the show got long and it’s all Joanie Raimindo’s fault. She asked a question about away and waste knots and that launched a serious needlework discussion. There’s learning to be done in that last 30 min. We hope you enjoy the show.–Vonna and Gary

Debbie Rowley’s Glitz and Glamour Opal design.
It’s two days before Friday and we have some chatting to do. This week we battle through our illnesses to talk about stitching on international flights, 150+ SALs already scheduled for 2019, our spending limiting techniques, and the impact, or not, of plastic on threads.
