Christine did get a little beach time while in Jamaica.
Fascinating! Thanks, Christine. I found this link which I think is to your company for those who are curious and want to explore more. https://www.jamaicanblackcastoroil.com
Gary and Christine I know that you are always on the look out for interesting “Fibre Talk” people – – – I have just started doing some volunteer work for the San Francisco School of Needlework and Design – great organization, lots of “Fibre Stuff” going on and I think they would make for a really interesting podcast – http://www.sfsnad.org 415-604-1104. Lucy Barter is one of the founders – Royal School of Needlework trained but now living permanently in the USA.
Christine, I had started to listen to this during a busy time … and then stopped because I wanted to focus on your story. Just took the time to listen carefully… thank you so much for sharing the components of your job and life and describing the outreach and impact of all the things ‘shared’. It is truly a blessing to be in a position to help people … and the little things do matter.
By the way, your picture with the tattoo made me really smile – your voice and soft spoken demeanor had created a different image, the only thing that shows that side of you is your quirky, pragmatic comments sometimes and the way you hold your own in some of the discussions…. keep going !
I am catching up on listening to all your great podcast episodes, so am late to the party. However, I want to comment that this episode is fantastic. I loved hearing about Christine’s job, experiences, and her and her employer company’s good works. Thanks for including this.

Imagine what your plain Jane sneakers would look like if they had a scene embroidered on the sides. Melissa Galbraith did just that and she wrote a book about it to help you turn your canvas shoes into works of art. Melissa is our guest this week and the show is sponsored by Sassy Jacks […]
Our sponsors are CyberPointers and Sassy Jacks Stitchery and our guest is needlepoint artist Kevin Lustik. “Velvetpark” magazine said it best, “Lustik’s imaginative work evokes a folksy Americana, yet upon closer inspection, you are confronted by piercing social commentary. Few artists can pull off hot button issues of the day such as climate change and […]
We return from our holiday hiatus to talk about the upcoming Fiber Talk Needle Arts Weekend, March 21 to 23. Register today at wetalkfiber.com/weekend. We also talked about Beth’s Stitch Everyday challenge (Can you do it?), our 2025 plans to stitch the Phoenix Band Sampler by Northern Expressions Needlework and the Floral Runner wool applique […]
TwoMe, 12 crafts in 12 months, journaling, and macrame are the foundations of “Mindful Macrame,” a new book from this week’s guest, Isabella Strambio. The show is sponsored by Sassy Jacks Stitchery and the Embroiderers’ Guild of America. Isabella is one of many who left the corporate world because it was stifling her creativity. That […]
