Fiber Talk with Ann-Marie Anderson Mayes

Chaise Longue 3D needlework design by Ann-Marie Anderson-Mayes.

Ann-Marie Anderson-Mayes is my guest this week. She is owner of Beautiful Stitches in Perth, Australia and is a needle artist, designer, teacher, and thread dyer. When she’s teaching, her focus is as much on developing student confidence as it is on needlework. Her designs are brightly colored, unique creations that use a variety of threads, stitches, and techniques. Ann-Marie is probably best known for her 3D designs, specifically her Chaise Longue and William Morris chair creations. While the chairs look complex, Ann-Marie indicates that they are relatively easy to put together and I can assure you the results are quite stunning. It was an absolute treat to talk with Ann-Marie and I’m confident you’ll enjoy learning more about this talented and enthusiastic needleworker.–Gary
