  1. I don’t see the Theresa Baird Sampler name on the list even those you show the picture up above but I am ordering it because I am blown away with the floral details and specialty Stitches in the trees by the house.

    1. Good catch. It’s there now. Also, learn more by downloading a pdf about Theresa’s work at this link: https://wetalkfiber.com/downloads/baird2019portfolio.pdf

      1. Thank you !

    2. A Time Forever Gone was designed at the request of The Sampler Guild of Georgia and the Magnolia Sampler Guild, asking if I would be interested in coming to Atlanta to teach one of my designs. During the conversation, we talked about how very few antique samplers from that area of the south had survived. The Civil War, climate and insects had certainly taken their toll on whatever was there originally. So I suggested that I could come up with a new design, that would have the spirit of an old sampler which might have been stitched by a young lady in the mid 1800’s. And that is how the process for this design got started!
After watching “Gone With The Wind” several times I felt a surge of creativity, both in the artistic representation of the design, as well as poetically, in the composition of the verse I wrote to accompany the sampler. I knew that I wanted a swag of flowers instead of a traditional border, so I researched flowers indigenous to the Atlanta area and started putting my ideas together creating a meandering border composed of azaleas, dogwood flowers, wild raspberries, coreopsis and violas. The plantation house was inspired by an actual house I found in my research, and is surrounded by cotton plants, magnolia blooms, a live oak with Spanish Moss, peach trees and the Brown Thrasher, state bird of Georgia. It took me a while, but I finally came up with a design that I truly love and hope you will as well.
A Time Forever Gone was stitched on 40 ct. linen using overdyed and solid silk floss. The specialty stitches used in my design are as follows: Holbein Stitch, Closed Herringbone, Satin Stitch, Diamond Eyelet, Half Diamond Eyelet, Quarter Diamond Eyelet, Over One Cross Stitch, Tent Stitch, Long Stitch, Rhodes Stitch, Spiral Trellis, French Knot, Tied Windmill, Back Stitch, Smyrna Cross, Chain Stitch, and Florentine Stitch.

  2. What about Elizabeth JM Mears by Queenstown Sampler will it be included in the sale? Also you two make a great team and so entertaining and fun to watch. I’ve been enjoying your Floss Tube series for a while now and they are so informational.

    1. Yes, all of the samplers we mentioned in the show, along with the samplers we discussed on June 23 are eligible for 15% off through August 31. Elizabeth JM Mears is mentioned in the description and in the show. Thanks for listening.

  3. Maybe it is not meant to be (for me anyway), but I have searched on Sassy Jack’s website for all parts of “A Time Forever Gone from the 13 Original Colonies Series by Theresa M. Baird, Heart’s Ease Examplar Workes” and get told on every search that nothing can be found. A pity, but fate appears to have spoken!

    1. I emailed her about it. Will let you know what I hear!
