Fiber Talk Midweek Chat, 7-31-19

Vonna finished this stocking.

Wednesday has arrived once again, as has Sassy Jacks to sponsor the show. Vonna and Gary talk about projects we’re stitching, reversible stitching, switching from Aida to linen, and Sampler Sunday. We also plan the next Sampler Sunday, which will feature all Quaker samplers. We invite you to suggest your favorites. If we talk about them in the September show, you’ll get two Fiber Talk needle minders. We hope you enjoy the show. Sunday’s guest is Deb Jochim, editor of Punch Needle & Primitive Stitcher magazine.–Vonna and Gary

  1. Hi Gary and Vonna
If you are discussing Quaker Samplers then I’d love you to mention our SAL. Next year a group of us are going to have a SAL to stitch Dorothy Walpole from The Scarlet Letter. It begins on 1st February to allow everyone to gather their supplies but we are already having fun in the Facebook group discussing what linen and threads to use. Everyone is welcome to join to stitch her or just to watch. The SAL page is Dorothy Walpole SAL 2020

  2. A Quaker style sampler that keeps drawing me back is “A Tree by Itself,” from Rosewood Manor. I am an avid gardener, and that simple Pueblo verse just speaks to me. Great show as always, Vonna and Gary.

  3. My nomination for you to talk about in your Quaker sampler show would be Quaker Village by Rosewood Manor. It is a four sided sampler that you could turn any direction and has beautiful motifs and interesting Quaker designs.

  4. Woo Hoo!!!! – Quaker samplers – my favourite – – – I was really pleased to hear this – – I’m going to send some of my favourites via email.

  5. Omanik Quantum frames are from Estonia. I love mine. Great tension on large projects.

    1. I love mine as well Kelly. I initially ordered a couple of sizes and I’ve just bought quite a few more in different lengths and widths. The delivery time is fantastic as well.

  6. I would suggest including Long Dog Sampler’s Quaker patterns for discussion in your podcast. Particularly the Quaker’s Dozen sampler.
