Fiber Talk with Alison Cole III

Embroiderers Alison encountered during her trip to Uzbekistan.
Alison Cole tackles some embroidery in Uzbekistan.

Alison Cole returns this week in a show sponsored by Sassy Jacks Stitchery. This is Alison’s third visit and this time we learn about her trip to Bukhara, Uzbekistan as the Australian goldwork representative at the International Festival of Gold Embroidery and Jewelry. In the conversation we hear about the amazing needlework and culture she experienced during her visit and some of the talented people she encountered. From her descriptions, it was an impressive festival, produced by the World Craft Council, and she saw embroidery unlike anything she’s encountered elsewhere. Join us to learn a bit about what the needle-art world is like in Central Asia.–Beth and Gary
