Chalasani first learned embroidery, sewing, and crochet as a young child from her grandmother. Her passion for stumpwork was sparked when she joined EGA in 1999. A life-long learner, she completed the City & Guilds Level 1 and 2 Certificate in Design and Craft Stumpwork distance courses under the tutelage of Chris Hammacott. Celeste is currently enrolled in the National Academy of Needlearts Teachers’ Certification program. We hope you enjoy this week’s conversation.–Christine and Gary

  1. Great discussion – Celeste is such an inspiration in her field and so interesting to listen to. I particularly the discussion on her Craftsy class – and also how she plans a project – fascinating.
Christine is clearly enjoying the class and getting to grips with all things stumpwork – it’s a joy to listen to her describing what she is learning and how much pleasure she gets out of the process. Thank you for sharing this with us.

  2. Wendy, Thanks for listening and we’re glad you enjoyed the show. After talking with Celeste and Christine, Craftsy classes have become much more appealing. I just may have to sign up for one.

  3. Gary, I have the Goldwork Craftsy class – done by Lucy Barter from San Francisco School of Needlework and Design – it’s fantastic!!!
