  1. A few years ago a friend and I were making frame weights and we wanted to use shot as our stuffing. Her husband used to sell bullet making supplies so she knew what we needed. We drove to a local small factory where they were sharpening scissors and knives but she knew that they also sold shot. When we drove up to the factory all the vehicles were trucks and they were backed into their parking place which kind of set a president of the type of people that were working there. When we walked into the factory my friend told them what we needed and after they realized she knew what she was talking about proceeded to find an opened 20 pound bag they sold for a fraction of the cost. We made their day and they made ours—and we have made several frame weight and still have some shot left.

  2. So looking forward to (and a little, just a little!) jealous of your visit/class/event/time at Sassy Jacks in a few weeks! You guys are really really tempting me with that RSN book…might need to go back and reread Mary Corbet’s review. If I already own the Blackwork and the Whitework books from the RSN, is the material redundant? Also been wondering: Christine, have you been able to pursue the idea of testing out 30 year old DMC thread to see if it actually changes properties? I remember you talking about a special machine or test that you knew of some time back and it would be a matter of getting a friend to do you a favor to let you do it. Inquiring minds want to know!
