Wednesday certainly is persistent. But we’re keeping up with another Midweek Chat. This time our topics include Michelle Garrette’s charity fund-raising efforts, the Hexefoos design by Kurdy Biggs, using the Good Reader app for stitching, and interest amongst our youth in decorating clothing with embroidery. The picture of the Christine’s son with his embroidered shoe reminded me of an exhibit in Williamsburg, VA at the DeWitt Wallace that showed colonial shoes with embroidery on them. Decorative Arts really started on clothing that was worn for special occasions or signified the status of the person. In the late 60’s and 70’s we embroidered our jean pants and jackets; funny how it all comes back!!! Life is truly a circle!!
