Fiber Talk Midweek Chat, 6-26-19

Yvette Stanton’s “Early-Style Hardanger” book.
It’s Wishful Wednesday, Fat Quarter Shop is sponsoring the show, and Arlene and I are talking about some (note the operative word “some”) of the projects we have in our stash that we would really like to stitch but simply can’t seem to get into the rotation. If you’re curious about techniques other than the one you do all of the time, you’ll enjoy this week’s discussion. Among the techniques we talk about are Japanese bead embroidery, various kinds of whitework, Jacobean crewelwork, blackwork, embroidery, lace, gold work, and charted needlepoint. To see photos of the projects we discuss, watch the slide show on the Fiber Talk page for this podcast (below) or our FlossTube video. We also celebrate one of Arlene’s designs making the cover of “Just Cross Stitch” magazine. Sunday’s guest: Margaret (not Michelle) Lee on Japanese and Chinese embroidery.–Gary
