Fiber Talk Midweek Chat, 10-2-19

Gary and Ellie Pfeiffer will be starting a new podcast called The Artist Nook.

Another week has flown by and we’re back to chat again. This show is sponsored by Sassy Jacks Stitchery, which is our weekend destination. We’ll be attending the Claudia Dutcher Bristol Orphanage Samplers lecture series and workshops and doing some broadcasting along the way. This week we talk about our plans, along with more on the Queen’s sampler, a new podcast Gary is doing with Ellie Pfeiffer, and Vonna’s frustrations with silk threads. We also get to hear from Vonna’s therapist.–Vonna and Gary

  1. The lady that thanked Gary for all the videos/podcasts at needlework activities, shows, and classes really speaks for the multitude of listeners that are so VERY grateful for him taking the time to allow us to share in things we could only dream of seeing or doing. I cannot find the words to express how much pleasure I receive from every video and podcast Gary produces! And I love the fun you and Vonna have on the shows. Safe travels this weekend and have a wonderful time at Sassy Jacks.

  2. A thought for a guest: Mother Eagle embroidery (her insta name). Her work is amazing!

    1. She’s a unique artist. Thanks!

  3. There is a good Article on Spiral Trellis Stitch by Tricia Wilson Nguyen of Thistle Threads. She would be a good one to have as a guest.

Also Barbara Jackson of Tristan Brooks Designs would be an interesting guest. She does Crewel and Counted thread.

  4. Gary and Vonna,
I love to be able to live vicariously through your trips and the level of information in your podcasts.
Question for you. I know that this is the 22 nd and have watched your videos of the Bristol Sampler Weekend. Did you ever learn more about the different types of silk? In reference to the 103 or the other Au Ver A Soie?
Would love to hear what you both have found out.
