Natalie Dupuis joins us this week to talk about goldwork, Or Nue, Italian shading, and other things related to metallic needlework. Natalie is a self-taught needleworker, designer, and teacher who has made great strides in a relatively short time and has developed an influential presence in today’s goldwork world. She regularly studies at the Royal School of Needlework and the San Francisco School of Needlework and Design. Natalie is also involved in a masters program focused on metal-thread embroidery and the origins and evolution of the Or Nue and Italian shading techniques. Her designs are unique, creative, and often involve a fusion of techniques. We’re confident you’ll enjoy the conversation and be tempted to try one of Natalie’s designs.–Gary and Vonna
