Fiber Talk with Gay Ann Rogers IV

Tudor Rose by Gay Ann Rogers.

Gay Ann Rogers returns for the fourth time for a show sponsored by Needle In A Haystack. Our goal with this show is to help all of us, who are quarantined in a stressful world, use our needlework as a coping/stress-relief activity and a diversion from the world around us. We also provide ample permission to have multiple projects in the works at one time. –Gary and Vonna

  1. I’m almost speechless with how wonderful it was to listen to this podcast!
I’ve admired Gay Ann Rogers for so long and to hear her thoughts and ideas was beyond fun.
Vonna, wow, opening up like that in discussion with Gay Ann. Just wow!
I’m so glad I finally found Fibertalk! Thank you both!

    1. Glad you enjoyed the show. Always a treat to listen to Gay Ann and the exchange between Gay Ann and Vonna was special. I was happy to simply sit back and listen. Thanks for listening.

  2. One of the best shows ever. Loved Gay Ann’s comment about Jane Zimmerman. She was my original needlepoint teacher for many classes. I’d like to hear her on Fiber Talk. What was the brand of seam ripper Gay Ann mentioned?

    1. Glad you enjoyed the show. It is a good one. I want to know the name of the seem ripper, too. I’ll ask Gay Ann and try to have it for the Wendesday show.

  3. Thank you Gay Ann, Gary and Vonna. Great Fiber Talk topics today. I look forward to the next one.

  4. Loved the show -GAR is such a joy to listen to. Her work is fabulous and I have done several of her designs. But she is so right about making stuff your own and taking risks and experimenting . Also the question of perfection.

I work in a lot of techniques – some better than others but reasonably good in most. I realized that 1)!i do
Kits more as practice pieces 2) I like
Creating my own compositions – I don’t draw but can borrow elements from lots of other designs to create an original ( god bless tracing paper) 3)
Alison Cole has the arm out rule – if, when you hold you piece out at arm’s length and you are happy with it – let it go. Most people will be in awe anyway. Your friends will be thrilled you finished, Your family will be honored and you are happy. That is all that counts.
