There will not be a podcast today, Jan. 8, as planned. The laptop Gary uses to record and edit podcasts required repair by Apple experts. The turnaround was supposed to be four days maximum. Those four days have passed and it’s crickets from the Apple repair people. Our new schedule calls for a Stitch Hour Wednesday night. That also is in jeopardy. We’ll post notification about that show as soon as we know. Thanks to all of our loyal listeners/watchers for your understanding and patience. We’ll be back in action as soon as we can. We have many things to share.—-Gary, Beth, Jenifer, and Cindy

- Fiber Talk with Isabella Rosner May 12, 2024Isabella Rosner is one of those rare people who sets a course where no course exists and, with persistence and hard work, reaches her goals. In this week’s conversation, sponsored by the Embroiderers’ Guild of America and Sassy Jacks Stitchery, we learn how Isabella’s love of textile arts drove her all the way to earning […]Gary Parr

Gary, Beth and Jenifer, I logged in on Wed expecting to hear the regular program and thought well maybe I heard wrong. Sorry about problems with your A laptop. Hope they can repair it…why doesn’t the mighty Apply Co. give people loaners especially for a business. Enough said. Hope to join in soon.
Colleen
Machine has returned. Back in business this weekend.
Gary
All we can do is hang in there and perhaps add a little prayer for overcoming this obstacle. Gary does a fine service for the fiber artist community whether professional or hobbyist.
Even though it seems nice to have a loaner, it’s not as nice as it seems. Having been in the IT industry before retiring, I have had the “opportunity” to use a loaner until my regular machine was either fixed or replaced. I found out pretty fast how individualized one’s own machine is even though it’s rolled out with the company standard software package. Somehow, they’re all a bit different. It’s like when you buy two of a favorite thing to wear but each piece seems to sit on you a bit differently.
Apple products are generally fine machines and very dependable. It shouldn’t take much longer to get repaired unless the piece that’s needed is on a slow boat from China. (I really hope that’s not true.)
Meanwhile, we can keep on stitching and have even more to brag about when next we meet. Or go shop with one of Fiber Talk’s sponsors.
Thanks. Yes, big no to loaners. Machine back home and we resume this weekend.
