It’s two days before Friday and Jenifer and Gary decided to do some chatting. Our topics include Fiber Talk activities at the Attic; answering the burning question: What do men talk about when stitching?; a fund raiser at the Attic for the the Breast Cancer Research Foundation, and more on the confidence gap between males and females and whether the quest for perfection is a good thing. Sunday’s guest: Victoria Matthewson.–Jenifer and Gary

Wednesday night, Oct. 6, we broadcast our fourth in the series of live sampler shows. This week we were live at The Attic (attic needlework.com) with Jean Lea and our pocketbooks are lighter for it. For the other three shows in the series, we enjoyed seeing a number of samplers from the collection of Kim Young, Sassy Jacks Stitchery (sassyjacksstitchery.com), fawned over some of the collection owned by Melinda Cole of Merry Wind Farm, and received an excellent sampler education from Vickie LoPiccolo Jennett of Needlework Press. If you missed any shows or want to see them again, they are all presented below. We hope you enjoy them.–Gary, Beth, and Jenifer
It’s Monday and Vonna and Gary are stitching away while quarantined. The show is sponsored by Needle in a Haystack (needlestack.com) and The Attic (attic needlework.com). Thanks to everyone who joined us for the live show and we hope those who couldn’t will enjoy the recording. We’ll be back Wednesday for another Quarantine Stitch Hour and Vonna and Gary will also be doing the regular Wednesday podcast.
It’s chatting day and Arlene and Gary have things to talk about. Our subjects include Australian fund-raising efforts, stitching on high-thread-count linen, Nashville designs, and modifying a project so it reflects your vision. Join Vonna and Gary this Friday for Friday Night Live and don’t miss Sunday’s guest, Lizzy Pye of Laurelin Embroidery.–Arlene and Gary

Our guest this week is Lianne van Leyen of 1897 Schoolhouse Samplers and our show is sponsored by The Attic Needlework shop, where samplers rule. Be sure to check out the January Sampler of the Month (not the December Sampler as Gary said), Pour Ta Fete from Lindsay Lane Designs.
Lianne van Leyen has a fascinating work and personal life, in addition to being a talented needleworker and sampler reproduction artist. We had a terrific time learning about Lianne and her approach to sampler reproduction. You’ll also get to learn why her company is named 1897 Schoolhouse Samplers. We’re confident you’ll enjoy listening as much as we enjoyed recording the show. Also, be sure to download the free Louisa Acton chart from 1897 Schoolhouse Samplers and join the SAL on Lianne’s Facebook page. It’s Midweek Chat week and Beth and Gary connected through our respective internet providers to talk about eyeglasses and what we learned from Kelly Lea Teske, supporting Ukraine designer Ekaterina at stitchyprincess.etsy.com, selecting projects vs. being influenced by stitching friends, projects we have that need to be at the top of the pile, stitching in […]
It’s hard to stitch if you can’t see well and, for most of us, seeing well requires a good pair of glasses. This week, in a show sponsored by CyberPointers, Kelly Lea Teske returns to help us better understand how to make the most of our next visit to the eye doctor and the optician. […]
