  1. Oh Gary and Christine….what a great podcast! Always interesting, well planned and a pleasure to listen to. Glad you are doing it twice weekly now. I enjoy the Wednesdays podcasts at least as well as the Sundays. Too intrusive to post photos of your work space and storage solutions? They sound well thought out and I bet a lot of us would like to see them!

Sarah Homfray and Trish Burr would make interesting guests, for those of us who do hand embroidery as well as counted work…..And am looking forward to hearing from Arlene Cohen some time.

And maybe you could post the name of the DMC app you use, Gary?

Many thanks for the hours of helpful pleasure you both offer!

    Sincerely,
    Debbie Caruso

  2. Another wonderful and engaging Fiber Talk. On the subject of bobbins . . . when I started I used cardboard bobbins. Was plastic even available? I don’t know. Later, I went to plastic because it was sturdier. Finally, the plastic bobbins dropped the “helpful” notch to get the floss started. I can’t say I miss that feature. Now I’m about to return to cardboard. Somehow the manufacturers thought it was a good idea to make the floss holding slit much wider. While I imagine it does a bang up job holding yarn, the floss slips right out. Hey, Gary and Christine, do you know of a source that make a bobbin the old fashioned way without the starter notch?

    Happy Stitching,

    Judy

    1. Judy,
Thanks for listening. We’re glad you enjoy the shows. The plastic bobbins I use have a starter at the bottom on both sides. I’ve not seen any without the notches, though I’m not a good source as I’ve always used the same bobbins. Maybe someone else will have a source for you.
      Gary
