We travel to England this week to visit with Phillipa Turnbull of The Crewel Work Company, one of the true masters of crewel designs and techniques. Phillipa and her business partner/daughter Laura work with castles, country houses, and museums around Britain to ensure precious private embroidery collections are understood and appreciated by fellow enthusiasts. Our conversation is a riveting exploration of English needlework history, discovery and restoration, and crewel stitching materials and techniques.–Gary

Let us know if you go to the Festival in 2021. This was excellent although Phillipa talked fast and used words I did not always understand. Makes me want to take out my crewel piece and work on it. Would love to take a trip with her. Did you ever get Judy Jeroy to talk? She does crewel work. I found her to be an excellent teacher. Any books yet? Just asking….
