Fiber Talk with Abigail Timmis

Abigail Timmis at work.

This week’s guest is Abigail Timmis. Abby is a hand embroiderer, needlepoint canvas designer, needlepointer, embroidery instructor, and lover of all things handmade. She has studied at the Royal School of Needlework where, will designing needlework, she realized she needed and wanted more formal training and decided to pursue a degree in illustration. She now creates and offers needlepoint and embroidery designs through her Abigail Cecile website. Abby tells us that, “While embroidery is finally gaining popularity, needlepoint is still fairly obscure with millennials. It’s my goal to not only create beautiful and attractive designs (while still being rooted in the gorgeous history of needlework) but also to educate crafters and needlepointers alike.”

  1. Hello Gary and Christine, I just wondered if you have heard about the Mystery Stitch Along sponsored by Linens and Threads (Australia)

    http://linenandthreads.com/mystery-sampler-stitch-a-long

    https://www.facebook.com/groups/linenandthreadsSAL/

I am stitching it and there are over 4000 followers around the world. Thought the idea and the process might interest your listeners.
    Enjoy your podcast!

    1. Gerri,
Didn’t know about that effort. 4,000 is a lot of people!! We’ll check it out.
      Thanks,
      Gary
