Julia Fletcher 1847 from The Scarlett HouseToday’s show is definitely different and a bit of an experiment. Gary and Vonna are devoting the entire show to some of the new designs being offered at the Nashville Market, March 1 to 3. While you can certainly simply listen to the podcast and get plenty out of it, we’re accompanying this show with a slide show of some of the designs we like and want to talk about. To see those designs while we talk about them, go to the page for this show at wetalkfiber.com. If you click on the slide show on the podcast page, you’ll see a larger version. Arrows on the left and right of each photo allow you to move through the slideshow. We hope you enjoy our discussion and this different format. Please provide feedback about this format so we’ll have a sense of whether it works. Sunday’s guest: Mary Corbet.
We hope you enjoy this week’s conversation. We’re always looking for guests, so let us know if there is someone you’d like us to have on the show.

excellent!! I watched the slide show first and made notes, then went back and listened. my favorites that hit me in the face were Jeanne McGowan’s quilt square and the bee…wow!! next up, extremely close second was Teresa Kogut, whom I noted to be “very interesting.” Tx, Gary &Vonna…have fun! Look forward to living Market vicariously!!

Wednesday is a favorite because we get to talk about needlework. In this week’s show we remember Jean Lea, talk about a Valentine’s Day registration offer for the Fiber Talk Needle Arts retreat, discuss our attempts to stitch every day and what projects are in the rotation, look at some casket stitching, enjoy some Gay […]
The passing of Jean Lea will leave a huge void in the needlework world, particularly for those who love, reproduce, and stitch samplers. In addition to being a terrific person, Jean was widely known as the owner of The Attic, one of the few true destination needlework shops. Anyone who spent any time with her […]
The life of a military wife, living in upstate New York, and the pandemic catalyzed Caroline Gilman’s interest in needlepoint. Our conversation with Caroline is sponsored by Avlea Folk Embroidery and the Fiber Talk Needle Arts Weekend. During those hours in New York, Caroline found her home with painted-canvas needlepoint. It wasn’t long before she […]
We’re at the center of the week and Cindy and Gary have fired up the recording gear to talk about a new one-day option for the Fiber Talk retreat (wetalkfiber.com/weekend); request for questions for upcoming shows; Gary keeping up with Beth’s Stitch Every Day challenge; storing slate frames, scroll rods, and stretcher bars; marking stretcher […]
Imagine what your plain Jane sneakers would look like if they had a scene embroidered on the sides. Melissa Galbraith did just that and she wrote a book about it to help you turn your canvas shoes into works of art. Melissa is our guest this week and the show is sponsored by Sassy Jacks […]
