Fiber Talk Midweek Chat, 11-30-22

It’s Wednesday and Cindy and Gary talked for a long while about needlework. This week’s topics include a huge moving sale at Sassy Jacks Stitchery, with lots of charts on sale, Sassafras Samplers charts at great prices, and Hands Across the Sea Samplers charts at clear-out prices. Other topics include creating our own designs, stitching plans for 2023, and threads from Be Stitch Me. In addition, we gush over the upcoming “Sea of Light Border” design from Avlea and speculate about varying quality of DMC floss, particularly the high quality that appears to come off of the cones. Fiber Talk Midweek Chat, 3-10-21

Chatting day has arrived and Beth and Gary got together to talk about the various changes we’re testing/making to our Springhill projects, color wheels and learning about color, and the perception of needlework as art, hobby, and/or craft. Fiber Talk Midweek Chat, 2-10-21

The day that begins with a W arrived so Beth and Gary decided to have a chat. After catching up on our stitching activities we found ourselves in a discussion about why we always feel the need to have a project if we’re going to stitch. Why not just stitch? That led to a our reactions to a live Jane Dunnewold Facebook session we attended this past Saturday and a discussion of the element of curiosity in the creative process. We also talked about doodle cloth use, warm-up stitching, and some Gay Ann Rogers thoughts. We enjoyed the conversation and it got our wheels spinning. We hope the same happens to you.
