  1. Great show. I was very surprised you all did not conduct interviews with the Royal School when they were in Lexington, Kentucky in July. There were 10 tutors from England plus the director. 3 tutors will be in Williamsburg in October, including
Rachel O’Doyle who wrote the RSN
    Book on Canvaswork.

You should follow the blog of Mr. CrossStitch, based in England, who is leading a revolution to modernize cross stitch as well as other modern stitching and fiber use.

I was also surprised you did not do interviews with faculty at the Canadian Association of Embroiders annual seminar in St. EdwArds Island.
They had a number of Australian Embroiderers teaching classes.

Finally, you should talk to the folks at Inspirations Magazine as well as ask them about this fall’s Beating Around the Bush stitching retreat. It is held only every 2 years and features legendary embroiderer’s.

Nicholas Jarvis – with a specialty in Canvaswork, is from the RSN and was teaching at CAE as well as the Northern California summer regional stitching retreat.

Finally how about Phillipa and Laura
Turnbull from Crewelworks in the U.K.
They have fabulous retreats and stitching tours.

It would be nice if you expanded more beyond the cross-stitch world. Sampler discussions are getting overworked. There is so much great Crewel, silk embroidery, blackwork, Goldwork. More shows – try the Annual Woodlawn show in Virginia where for a month this home of Martha Washington’s daughter is turned over to a Needlework Show and competition.

Or how about some of the big on line classrooms : Linen and Threads Mystery CrossStitch Band sampler or
The Shining Needle Society which attracts 100’s of stitchers and big name teachers.
