Fiber Talk Samplers Series

Wednesday night, Oct. 6, we broadcast our fourth in the series of live sampler shows. This week we were live at The Attic (attic needlework.com) with Jean Lea and our pocketbooks are lighter for it. For the other three shows in the series, we enjoyed seeing a number of samplers from the collection of Kim Young, Sassy Jacks Stitchery (sassyjacksstitchery.com), fawned over some of the collection owned by Melinda Cole of Merry Wind Farm, and received an excellent sampler education from Vickie LoPiccolo Jennett of Needlework Press. If you missed any shows or want to see them again, they are all presented below. We hope you enjoy them.–Gary, Beth, and Jenifer

Fiber Talk Midweek Chat, 10-6-21

Bargello heart stitched by Cindy Baldwin
Wednesday has arrived once again and Gary and Cindy have gathered to talk about a random collection of subjects, none of which we planned to discuss. Among the subjects are the Needlework Galleria and what Gary bought, which led to several topics such as Erica Michaels berries, finishing, and Rosewood Manor designs. We also discussed needlepoint techniques, cross stitch techniques, and samplers. We had fun talking and hope you have fun listening. Join us tonight for the Fiber Talk Stitch Hour at 8:00 p.m. Eastern when Gary will be at The Attic with Jean Lean and we’ll conclude our series of Wednesday sampler shows by fawning over a small portion of Jean’s vast collection. You can find us at the Fiber Talk YouTube channel. Sunday’s guest: Lindsay Swearingen, author of the new book “Creepy Cross Stitch: 25 Spooky Projects.”–Cindy and Gary

Fiber Talk Midweek Chat, 5-29-19

Lucy Navier 1818 from Hands Across the Sea Samplers.

It’s Video Wednesday and I have two of them for you, both made with Jean Lea during my recent visit to The Attic Needlework shop in Mesa, AZ. The first is a tour of Lucy Navier 1818, the Hands Across the Sea Samplers 2019 Queen of the May reproduction. It’s a design with several elements that will intrigue anyone who loves reproduction samplers. The second is a video I’ve wanted to do for some time. Jean treated all of us to a rather extended discussion of her all-time and/or current favorite samplers. It also became obvious during the video that she has a bad case of startitis. I hope you enjoy hearing Jean talk about her favorite subject. In addition, remember that tomorrow and Friday I’m at Sassy Jacks for the Bathya workshop with Nicola Parkman. Watch for more interviews and videos. Sunday’s guest: Vonna joins me to interview Jacob deGraaf of Modern Folk Embroideries. There will also be a discount on his designs.–Gary
